Many people think organising means buying containers, baskets and storage boxes.
In reality, the first step is something much more important.
Understanding how someone lives.
For this project, Total Cleanz helped a young homeowner transform her bedroom into a space that was easier to maintain and designed around her daily routine—not simply organised to look tidy.
Property: Bedroom in a private residence in CitySquare Residences
Homeowner: Young working professional
Project Focus: Bedroom, study area, makeup area and platform bed organisation
Special Considerations: Cat-friendly organisation, extensive clothing collection, travel essentials and sentimental keepsakes
Sometimes the biggest organising challenges aren’t visible at first.
What looked like a straightforward bedroom project soon revealed hundreds of small items hidden beneath a platform bed, inside cartons, smaller boxes and individual storage bags.
Instead of simply putting everything back into place, our team carefully categorised every belonging before designing a storage system around the homeowner’s daily habits.

When we first entered the bedroom, we expected a relatively straightforward organising project.
The room looked manageable.
But once we began working, we realised the real challenge was hidden beneath the platform bed.
Cartons.
Boxes inside cartons.
Smaller boxes inside those cartons.
And inside many of those boxes…
Tiny ziplock bags filled with carefully kept belongings.
The project quickly became one of detailed sorting rather than simply moving items from one place to another.
Every organising project begins with understanding the person—not the furniture.
Our client was a young working professional who enjoyed shopping, travelling and collecting practical travel-sized items for future trips.
She also shared her room with her beloved cat, which meant the bedroom naturally contained pet supplies, toys and accessories alongside her own belongings.
Rather than viewing these as clutter, we saw them as part of her everyday life.
The organising system needed to support all of it.
One of the biggest tasks involved sorting through hundreds of small belongings.
Clothing.
Travel essentials.
Beauty products.
Documents.
Keepsakes.
Accessories.
Cat supplies.
Sentimental memories.
Each category had to be reviewed carefully before deciding where it should live.
This stage required patience because organising isn’t simply about grouping similar items.
It’s about deciding which items should be easiest to reach based on how frequently they’re used.
The platform bed became the heart of the project.
Instead of randomly filling each compartment, we designed all nine storage sections around the client’s lifestyle.
Before anything was returned, we discussed with her how she naturally searched for her belongings and how she wanted the room to function in the future.
Together, we created dedicated storage zones.
🛏 Compartment 1: Bedsheets
💜 Compartment 2: BTS collection and treasured memories
📝 Compartment 3: Stationery and personal keepsakes
🐱 Compartment 4: Cat toys
👨👩👧 Compartment 5: Parents’ belongings
🧸 Compartment 6: Hard toys and collectibles
🥣 Compartment 7: Cat food and pet supplies
📜 Compartment 8: Certificates and important documents
🧸 Compartment 9: Soft toys
The transformation extended beyond the platform bed.
We reorganised her wardrobe to make clothing easier to locate.
Her study desk was redesigned to support working from home.
The makeup area was reorganised so everyday beauty products became easy to access while reducing visual clutter.
Even though storage space was limited, careful planning allowed every area of the room to serve a clear purpose.
One thing we often tell our clients is that containers don’t solve clutter.
Systems do.
Many organising projects fail because people purchase storage products before deciding what should actually be stored.
Our approach is the opposite.
We first understand the person’s habits.
Then we categorise belongings.
Only then do we design the storage system.
That’s why every organising project we complete looks different.
Because every client lives differently.
By the end of the project, the room wasn’t simply tidier.
It became easier to maintain.
Every category had a designated location.
Every compartment had a purpose.
Most importantly, our client knew exactly where to find—and where to return—everything she owned.
Professional organising isn’t about creating a picture-perfect room for one day.
It’s about creating systems that continue working every day afterwards.
“One of the biggest misconceptions about organising is that every home should look the same. That’s never our goal. Before we decide where anything belongs, we spend time understanding how our clients live. Do they travel often? Do they work from home? Do they have pets? What hobbies do they enjoy? When a storage system reflects real daily habits, it’s much easier to maintain. That’s why we don’t organise for photographs—we organise for real life.”
