That was the situation when a gentleman in his early fifties invited Total Cleanz to help transform his 4-room HDB home.
Every collection tells a story.
For this project, our client had spent years collecting books, board games, movies and hobby items that reflected his interests and passions. While everything was generally organised, the growing collection had gradually taken over much of the living space.
Our team worked closely with him to identify the items he truly wanted to keep, coordinate the donation of books and games that could benefit others, and restore the home into a space that felt open, comfortable and enjoyable once again.

The first thing visitors noticed wasn’t clutter.
It was books.
Shelves filled with novels.
Stacks of board games.
Movies.
Collectibles.
Every room reflected a lifetime of interests.
Our client clearly cared for his collection.
Items were generally arranged neatly, but after many years of collecting, there simply wasn’t enough space left to enjoy the home comfortably.
Sometimes, even organised collections need room to breathe.
One of the most meaningful parts of this project was that the decision came from the client himself.
He wasn’t being pressured by family members.
He wasn’t moving house.
He had simply reached a point where he felt ready.
Ready to let some things go.
Ready to enjoy more space.
Ready to keep the collection that truly mattered while allowing other items to find a new purpose.
That mindset made every decision much easier.
Rather than treating every unwanted item as waste, we carefully sorted books, games and other collectables that were still in good condition.
Many were donated to charitable organisations where they could continue to be enjoyed by others.
For passionate collectors, this often feels much better than simply throwing everything away.
The stories continue—just in someone else’s hands.
Once the excess items had been removed, the transformation became immediately obvious.
For the first time in a long while, clear walkways appeared throughout the home.
Natural light reached further into the living areas.
Most importantly, the windows could once again be opened fully, allowing fresh air to circulate through the house.
Sometimes the biggest difference isn’t what you add to a home.
It’s what you finally have room to enjoy again.
By the end of the project, the living room and family area felt dramatically more spacious.
The master bedroom became calm and comfortable once again.
Another bedroom had already been reduced by approximately half, giving the client a clear plan for future organising as and when he was ready.
Rather than trying to change everything at once, we focused on creating meaningful progress that felt achievable and sustainable.
Following the transformation, our client engaged Total Cleanz for regular cleaning services.
With the home now organised, maintaining it became much easier.
Regular cleaning ensures the environment stays fresh, comfortable and enjoyable—allowing him to focus on the hobbies he continues to love.
